1933 - 1934

THE MANCUNIAN FILM CORPORATION LTD ...

1933 - A meeting with Laurel and Hardy at Manchester's Midland Hotel convinces John E Blakeley to return to film production and in 1934 he forms the Mancunian Film Corporation Ltd. His first film is Boots! Boots! which stars George Formby in his first 'talkie' role (Hotun youtube link) (wife Beryl appears alongside him as 'Snooky') and also marks the screen debut of teenage singer Betty Driver.
