1935 - Formby and Blakeley make Off The Dole. George Formby's wife Beryl once again teams up with him in this film.

1936 - Dodging The Dole starring Dan Young made by Mancunian Film Corporation Ltd.

BIRTHS:

1935 - Screenwriter Trevor Griffiths born 4 April in Manchester, screenwriter of many TV plays and the film Reds.
1935 - Actor Amanda Barrie born in Ashton-under-Lyne on 14 September - As well as appearing in several Carry On films and the starring role in Carry On Cleo, Amanda played Alma Sedgewick (later Baldwin) in Manchester's Coronation Street from 1981 to 2001.
1935 - Actor Graham Armitage born in Manchester (d. 6 March 1999).

1936 - Actor Albert Finney born 9 May in Salford. Finney worked with Hylda Baker in Saturday Night and Sunday Morning (1960).
