HAMMER RETURNS ...

Hammer Films returns to Manchester and makes classic film noir Hell Is A City.

Granada launches Coronation Street, the world's longest soap, leading to the film careers of many including Monkee Davy Jones.

Lance Comfort directs Jess Conrad in Rag Doll for Mancunian Studios, produced by Tom Blakeley.
