MANCHESTER FILM HISTORY

1980 - 1989 THE TUXEDO WARRIOR ...  

1981 - Hollywood returns to Manchester as Warren Beatty shoots sequences of Trevor Griffiths' Reds with Hulme passing for revolutionary Russia.

Other than Beatty, it was the 'Orson Welles of Salford', Cliff Twemlow, who saved the 1980s from film famine
with his seat-of-the-pants, one-man film industry! Twemlow's output is documented in the book 'The Lost World of Cliff Twemlow':

1983 - GBH and Target Eve Island

1984 - The Ibiza Connection - Also to be noted in 1984 is Barry Gibb's Now Voyager, about time travel involving Sir Michael Hordern, Manchester's Victoria Baths and a spaceship, directed by Storm Thorgerson.

1986 - Into The Darkness and Moonstalker

1987 - Eye of Satan
